American School of The Hague (ASH) is looking for a full-time Director of Technology SY 2024-2025.

Start date is August 1, 2024

Location: Wassenaar, on the north side of The Hague
Language Skills:English fluency is essential; knowledge of Dutch is preferred

You are an experienced professional with an IT background with experience in technology leadership, preferably in an educational setting. You have a Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field, preferably a Master’s degree. You have experience in strategic planning and implementation of technology initiatives. You are committed to continuous professional development and staying current with technology trends.  

In addition you:

  • have an understanding of current and emerging technologies in education,
  • excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills,
  • have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively,
  • have experience with budget management and resource allocation.

The Role: The Director of Technology is a senior leadership position responsible for setting and maintaining the vision for the technology infrastructure and the integration of technology in the educational process at American School of The Hague, an independent PreK-12 institution. This role involves strategic planning, implementation, and management of all technology systems and initiatives to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative operations. You will lead and manage the technology department staff, consisting of 5 employees. You will work on campus and report to the Business Manager. 

The WorkYou will develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan aligned with the school’s mission and goals. Your visionary leadership in the use of technology will enhance educational outcomes and operational efficiency at the school. You will work together with academic leaders and faculty to integrate technology into the curriculum effectively. As manager of the IT department you foster a collaborative and innovative team culture. 

As Director of Technology you:

  • will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the school’s IT infrastructure,
  • will ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of the school’s technology systems,
  • manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure high quality and cost effective technology solutions,
  • provide professional development and training for faculty and staff,
  • ensure data integrity and security across all school systems, and manage data privacy compliance,
  • develop and manage the technology budget, identifying and pursuing funding opportunities.
