Systems and Application Specialist part-time (80%) position SY 2024- 2025

American School of The Hague (ASH) is looking for a part-time (80%) Data Systems and Application Specialist, start date is as soon as possible.

Location: Wassenaar, on the north side of The Hague
Language Skills: English fluency is essential; knowledge of Dutch is preferred

You are an experienced professional with a background in application management and data systems preferably in an educational setting. You have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field. Experience with application management for Brightspace, SeeSaw, and Powerschool is a plus.

The Role: As Data Systems and Application Specialist you play a key role in leveraging digital technologies to optimize data flow, and you will develop efficient data products and workflows. The role provides technical support for the school's Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS), which includes Brightspace, SeeSaw, and PowerSchool. This role reports to the IT Director/Manager. 

The Work: You will perform routine administrative tasks, troubleshooting, and rollovers for Brightspace and Seesaw. As well as maintain data synchronizations between SIS (PowerSchool) and LMS, and handle report card management and scheduling. 

As Data Systems and Application Specialist you:

• Provide technical assistance to users and manage digital licenses and instructional resources,
• Develop data products to support decision-making, including reports, attendance coordination, and data processing,
• Develop and implement data management for the School’s systems,
• Participate in testing and improving data systems and flows, collaborating with IT teams, ensuring compliance to data laws, and developing and giving data-related training.
