Concierge (full-time, temp. position), start date is as soon as possible

American School of The Hague (ASH) is looking for a temporary (6-12 months) full-time Concierge. Start date is as soon as possible.

Working hours:  Monday to Friday between 07.00-17.00 hours (sometimes also weekends and evenings).

Language skills: Dutch, knowledge of English required.

We are looking for a concierge who makes sure that our facilities stay safe and state of the art.

You are a team player with a positive and customer friendly attitude. You know how to get things done and do not mind (heavy) physical work. Additionally, you like to learn new things and are a real handyman.

In addition you;

  • have a valid driver's license,
  • live in the vicinity of Wassenaar,
  • are proactive and have a great sense of responsibility,
  • are able to work independently,
  • enjoy working with children.

The Role: The core task of the Concierge is to set up, manage and ensure timely and high quality execution of all tasks that ensure a fluently run school. You will report to the Facilities Coordinator and work closely with the Facilities Administrator.

The Work: As Concierge you work in a team of 5 persons to maintain our (top notch) facilities. You maintain and carry out (small) repairs to our buildings, interiors and facilities. You deliver packages to the classrooms and set up rooms for assemblies. Our school is open almost the whole week from 7 to 20. In addition to your regular working hours from Monday to Friday, you are also expected to work occasional evenings and weekends based on a rotating schedule.

In addition you;

  • have a proactive and positive attitude,
  • have no 9-5 attitude, 
  • have on call duty based on rotating week schedule (5.00pm-7.00am),
  • are efficient and able to work under pressure,
  • have excellent attention to detail and highly quality oriented, 
  • have a sense of responsibility and takes ownership,
  • review the execution of periodic maintenance,
  • perform other duties as appropriate and assigned by the Facilities Coordinator,
  • having a VCA certificate is preferred, otherwise following this course is mandatory.
